US-Israeli Strikes 'Completely Destroy' Historic Synagogue in Tehran

US-Israeli Strikes Target Tehran Synagogue

According to iranian media, united states-israeli strikes have 'completely destroyed' a historic synagogue in tehran, resulting in the loss of life and widespread damage.

The rafi-nia synagogue, a place of significant cultural and religious importance, was reportedly attacked in the early hours of the morning, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.

Footage from the scene shows civil defence workers navigating the rubble, with hebrew-language books scattered across the ground.

Iran's semi-official mehr news agency reported that the synagogue was destroyed when an adjacent residential building was attacked, causing severe damage to nearby buildings due to the narrow streets.

There were no immediate reports of casualties, but the attack has sent shockwaves through iran's jewish community, with many expressing outrage and sadness at the destruction of the ancient synagogue.

Homayoun sameh, a jewish representative in iran's islamic consultative assembly, described the attack as 'heartless' and 'cowardly', saying that the zionist regime had shown no mercy to the jewish community during the jewish holidays.

The attack is part of a series of united states-israeli strikes that took place overnight, resulting in the deaths of at least 15 people across iran, local media reported.

Among the affected areas was the city of pardis, east of tehran, where six bodies were recovered from under the rubble of buildings. nine people were also killed in an israeli air attack on a residential neighbourhood in the city of shahriar in the west of tehran province.
