Hamas Rejects Gaza Disarmament Plan, Palestinian Official Reveals
Deadlock Persists in Israeli-Hamas Conflict
According to a recent announcement by US Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff in mid-January, phase two of the Trump administration's plan to bring an end to the ongoing conflict has commenced. However, a stalemate has been observed between Israel and Hamas since the announcement.
The second phase of the plan aims to ultimately lead to a permanent ceasefire, contingent upon the demilitarization of Gaza and a complete Israeli withdrawal from the region.
Despite the outlined objectives, Hamas has reportedly rejected the disarmament plan, casting a shadow of uncertainty over the prospects of a lasting peace agreement.
